Ripple & Swirl - the pink ripple one
I have another Ripple quilt to show you, this time in bright pink.
I love how quick this pattern is to whip up, while being in no way boring. HSTs really are one of the most versatile blocks around. You can find this pattern right here in my shop.
This quilt is the throw size, which is fat quarter friendly (always a bonus) so I just picked a selection of bright pink, and white on white prints.
It's going to be gifted to a little girl who just became a big sister, and since her little brother gets to use the family baby quilt, she gets a "big girl bed" quilt. She loves cats, so I had to get this awesome kitty fabric for the backing.
And of course we can't have a simple, geometric quilt without a cool striped binding. I love striped bindings, they just add a special touch and fit so many quilt patterns that I actually have a small supply of striped fabrics here just for binding.
I sent this quilt out for longarm quilting again, like I did for the Winter Swirl. I wanted to soften up the simple geometric pattern with a curvy overall quilting design, and Sharyn at Huntley Quilting Studio definitely delivered with the cute floral design.
The pattern is available in my shop as a digital download.
Fabrics used were a variety of pink and white prints for the top, Kitty Kitty in White by Whistler Studios for Windham Fabrics for the backing and 1/4" stripe in black and white by Riley Blake.
